Meet your TREK suitcase!

You will use a bucket (no bigger than 5 gallon) with a lid as your dual-function suitcase and seat for TREK!  It is a sturdy, waterproof suitcase (only 15 lb total packing weight allowed), and it conveniently doubles as a camp chair.  You may decorate your bucket and prepare a "seat cover/cushion" if you wish. Check with your ward leaders to see if they are doing an activity to "beautify" buckets.  Make sure it has a screw on lid.

Shop for a bucket:

Lowe's (about $8.50 with lid)

Get free buckets:

Donut Time, Sams Club, Painting Companies, Grocery Store bakeries (call ahead and ask them to hold one for you)

Get in Shape!

Participants should be prepared to hike 10+ miles over the course of trek while pushing or pulling a heavy handcart.  The first day will have 7 miles of hiking!  Adults and leaders should prepare by walking and hiking regularly before trek at three miles an hour.
